Cabin Manufacturing Incorporated, a firm based in Fort Scott, Kansas specializes in designing and building small, high-end mobile hunting lodges. The Bushwacker is one such tiny lodge, and comes with a number of bells and whistles, which especially hunters will like. But even if hunting isn’t your thing, the design of this cabin is awesome and therefore worth a look. It looks like something from the Wild West, or maybe a Steampunk adventure.

The dimensions of the Bushwacker are 8.6 by 24 ft (2.62 by 7.3 m). It’s also quite robust and weighs 14,000 lbs (6,350 kg). The cabin is clad with a combination of rusted sheet-cut steel, reclaimed barn wood, and new hardwood, while the roof is made of rusted steel. There is also a steel deck attached to the house for relaxing outdoors. The cabin also features lots of fully operable windows, which let it plenty of natural air and light.

The wooden front door was handmade, and it opens into a spacious living area, which is furnished with a sofa and an armchair. The kitchen is connected to this space and features a well-sized granite countertop, as well as a breakfast bar, which can seat four people. There is a microwave, a stainless steel fridge/freezer, an induction hob and an oven, as well as a copper sink, which make this a very well-equipped kitchen. The storage space facing the kitchen was also custom-made. The bathroom features a shower and toilet, and the bedroom is located in the loft, which is accessible via a storage stair.

For getting electricity, the cabin can be hooked up to the grid or a portable generator. Heating and cooling needs are taken care of by a mini heat pump, and the cabin is also equipped with a propane hot water system.

The cabin features a 2-inches (5 cm) tubing skeleton inside which they used 18 gauge steel framing. According to the builders, such framing is both stronger and lighter than wood framing, and the entire cabin is glued and screwed, so no nails were used. Because of this, there is no danger of the components getting loose over time.
